ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (HWAP)
HARCATUS Housing & Weatherization seeks to assist customers with services that will make safe, decent and affordable housing attainable. Our endeavors are made possible through various programs and funding sources and many community partnerships.
Hours of Operation: Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Home Weatherization Assistance Program is available to help low income residents use less energy while increasing the comfort of their homes. Services are available to both homeowners and renters, but landlords may be required to make a financial contribution. A home inspection is completed to determine the most cost effective weatherization service for each home. Various services may include: Safety inspections, tune up/ repair, installation of heating unit, insulation of attics, sidewalls, floors, hot water tanks and insulating hot water tanks, low flow shower head, aerators, pipe wrap, reduction of air leakage from major sources, replacement of inefficient refrigerators and freezers, and a personalized energy management plan. The various programs include: East Ohio Gas Housewarming Program, Columbia Gas Warm Choice , American Electric Program (Targeted Energy Efficiency), and AEP CAP / Electric Partnership Program (EPP). We will also be considered as a contractor for the County/City Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP).

Harcatus Housing strives to provide quality programs to assist customers in all areas of housing related issues from homelessness to foreclosure prevention and in between. Our Housing Counselors are trained and certified through the NeighborWorks organization. Harcatus Housing has also adopted the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling. The NCHEC Certifications held include: Homeownership Counseling for Program Managers and Executive Directors, Foreclosure Intervention and Default Counseling, Post Purchase Homeownership Education, Pre-Purchase Homeownership Education, and Homeownership Counseling. The following programs and services are provided: Pre-purchase; Post Purchase Counseling; Foreclosure Prevention Counseling; Financial Literacy; Rental Counseling; Fair Housing Issues, & Homelessness Counseling.
