Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Sponsor

HARCATUS is a sponsor of the U.S. Department of Agriculture funded Child and Adult Care Food Program. Meals are served at no separate charge to all eligible participants enrolled for care, and will be provided without regard to race, color, national origin, gender, age, or disability. The goal of the program is to improve the diets of young children and increase the opportunity for children to eat a variety of nutritious foods.


CACFP provides reimbursement to home day care providers for meals and snacks served to children in their care.  CACFP gives working parents peace of mind which comes with knowing their children are in a caring environment, receiving nutritious meals and snacks.  Children are provided with well-balanced diets which meet federal guidelines. Serving the East Central and South East Ohio Counties of:  Belmont, Carroll, Columbiana, Coshocton, Guernsey, Harrison, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, Tuscarawas, Washington and Wayne.

If you are a licensed day care center or JFS certified home day care professional, CACFP can guide you in serving nutritious meals and snacks to the children you serve who are 12 years of age and younger. You will also receive nutrition information, menu planning ideas, support, as well as a monthly reimbursement check for each meal or snack you serve following the USDA Guidelines.


CACFP participants:

  • Keep a daily record of meals and snacks served
  • Use an online portal for attendance and recordkeeping and submit at the beginning of each month in order to receive reimbursement checks
  • Agree to allow HARCATUS CACFP staff conduct site visits at least three times per year
  • Agree to attend at least one CACFP offered training session each program year and any mandatory trainings
